A range of feedback, all appreciated

So, I get a variety of comments from people reading A Familiar Fate, and I while I appreciate any and all kind words, my favorite comments have been from parents who have read the book and are now sharing it with their kids. The goal was always to entertain people of all ages, so it's exciting to hear that the story can appeal to multiple generations.

That said, every once in a while I get some unique comments that really stand out from the crowd. Two of my favorites over the last few weeks have been:

1. "I wasn't expecting much, but I really like it." How do you beat that one? It's praise, right? If I reprint the book, I may have to put that quote on the cover. In all seriousness, it's great when someone is willing to dedicate some time to something they aren't too sure about and I can surprise them with a return on the reading investment.


2. "I'm really enjoying it, but I'm not too far in as I only read when I'm in the bathroom." Another big win in my opinion. People's bathroom time is precious, and the alternatives are plenty. It's good to know that I can sometimes trump Sports Illustrated or iPad surfing for those spending some alone time in the loo.

As always, I appreciate anyone who can spread the word. I'm not spending much time on promotion these days, so your kind words, emails and reviews keep the ball rolling. And, of course, if you want to put a quote up on the Reader Views section, just let me know.

Note: I'm also thinking of putting up a page dedicated to the book in cool or odd places, sort of how City Sports has people send in pictures of them wearing company t-shirts all over the world. If anyone wants to kick off the process, send a pic.
